Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
Bagh-e Nazar Journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ethical policy of the journal is based on the COPE guidelines for publication ethics and complies with the International Committee of the journal editorial board codes of conduct. Readers, authors, reviewers, and editors should follow these ethical policies once working with Bagh-e Nazar. Duties and responsibilities of the publisher:
- Bagh-e Nazar is a journal with open access to the public and publishing papers is subject to the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 4.0).
- The journal undertakes to prevent any discrimination in the processes of receiving, reviewing, accepting and publishing papers.
- The refereeing of the papers of this journal will be done anonymously by one or two referees, depending on the type of paper recognized by the editorial board members.
- The journal undertakes to send all accepted papers to the corresponding author for final approval before publication.
- All cases related to plagiarism and scientific papers must be investigated by the publisher, and if any of these cases are proven, the publisher will be obliged to remove the paper with a reason.
- The publisher is obliged to continuously monitor the observance of ethical and scientific principles by the editor and members of the editorial board and prevent any violations in this regard.
- The publisher undertakes to protect all intellectual property rights of the work (copyright).
Duties and responsibilities of the editor-in-chief and editorial board:
- The decision on which of the papers submitted to the journal should be published rests with the editor-in-chief and editorial board.
- The process of receiving and accepting papers should be free from any discrimination or conflict of interest with the editor-in-chief and editorial board.
- All stages of receiving, reviewing and accepting or not accepting papers must be communicated to the author/authors in a completely transparent manner and according to a certain schedule.
- Editorial board and the editor-in-chief are required to follow a consistent policy in accepting or rejecting papers and clearly state their reasons to the author(s) when rejecting an paper.
- It is the responsibility of the editor-in-chief and editorial board to keep the information about the authors until the publication of the paper.
- If a paper is rejected, the information of the authors of that paper is confidential and must remain with the members of the journal.
- The editor-in-chief is obliged to be responsible for the objection of the author/authors regarding the refereeing and after the review, if the claim of the authors is true, to re-refere the paper.
- The editor-in-chief and editorial board must follow the same policies regarding the possibility of plagiarism and scientific papers and how to deal with them and take the necessary measures in this regard.
- The editor-in-chief is obliged to check the similarity of the submitted papers with other published sources using similarity search software and if the similarity exceeds the limit of the publication, reject the paper by explaining the reasons.
- It is the editor-in-chief’s responsibility to provide guidance to guest editors, authors, and reviewers on what they are expected to do, as well as to describe review processes for reviewers.
- Provide guidance to new editorial board members on what is expected of them and keep existing members up to date on new policies and developments; it is the responsibility of the editor.
Duties and responsibilities of reviewers:
- The selected reviewers of the journal are obliged to avoid any personal and non-scientific opinion of the papers and to consider the policy of the journal in reviewing the papers.
- The reviewers are obliged to announce their withdrawal from the reviewing to the journal without missing a deadline in case of insufficient mastery of the subject of the paper or lack of time.
- According to the journal's policies regarding double-blinded reviewing, the reviewers are obliged to immediately inform the editor-in-chief if they know the authors or even if they are familiar with each other and withdraw from the paper’s reviewing process.
- Under no circumstances, reviewers are allowed to use the content of the papers that are referred to them for reviewing.
- The reviewers are obliged to send the result of their reviewing to the journal at the appointed time and also express their reviewing (accept/reject/revision) in a clear and clear manner and with sufficient evidence for the author/authors.
- The reviewers are obliged to inform the journal immediately if they are informed of plagiarism, publication of papers in other publications, data fabrication and other cases of non-compliance with the principles of scientific behavior in the paper.
Duties and responsibilities of the authors:
- Authors are obliged to adjust the topic of their submitted paper according to the content and scope of the journal.
- Authors are obliged to follow the principles of writing scientific papers of the journal and the rules of the journal.
- Authors are obliged to upload all the documents required by the publication (including author's approval and commitment forms, conflict of interest form, etc.) together with the original paper on the journal website.
- Submitted papers must not be sent to other journals at the same time for reviewing.
- Submitted papers must not have been previously published in any other media, including journals, books, conferences, etc.
- Authors are obliged to confirm the originality of the materials mentioned in their paper by signing the commitment form.
- Authors are obliged to declare their non-conflict of interests to the journal by signing a non-conflict form.
- If the authors have used the cooperation of specific persons, persons or organizations in conducting their research, they are obliged to mention their names in the paper.
- Authors are not allowed to divide a paper into several smaller parts and publish them separately.
- Authors are not allowed to publish their previously published paper with minor changes in this journal. The amount of changes should be at least 50%.
- The authors of the paper are obliged to cite all the sources used in the research in accordance with the referencing guidelines of the publication and refrain from quoting or using the contents of other sources without mentioning the source.
- If the reviewers request the data used in the paper during the reviewing process, the authors are obliged to provide the data immediately.
- After the paper is accepted, the language and content of the paper will be edited by the journal, and the authors are obliged to cooperate with the journal in sending any corrections or required documents.
- All the authors choose one person as the corresponding author for the correspondence (which is approved by all the authors) and introduce them to the journal, and all the correspondence of the journal is done with that person.
- All authors must agree on the order of names mentioned in the paper.
- In the process of publishing the paper, the authors must undertake that the rights of no other person or persons have been violated.
- After the publication of the paper, the authors must notify the journal of possible errors in the published paper and, if necessary, cooperate with the journal to correct or delete the paper.
- According to the policy of Bagh-e Nazar Journal for free access to papers, the authors, while enjoying the intellectual property of the paper, give the permission to publish the paper to the journal and the permission to use the paper by mentioning the source to the audience of the journal.
